We all have videos and photos of our youth group memories we want to share. If you don't, I want to encourage you to reconsider the power of connection that displaying your youth group memories can bring. It displays friends. It displays the atmosphere your community strives for. It displays fun or compassion or acceptance or all of the above!
But how do we share those videos or pictures?
VIDEOYouTube is an obvious choice for video and it's a method your teens are already using. It shares well to any where and does high def, but you're limited to 10 minutes. Facebook and FlickR also have video and aren't bad choices. Facebook gives you unlimited amounts of videos, but limits your file size and length (slightly more generous than YouTube), but compresses the video to a one size fits all format. FlickR is unlimited storage with a subscription.

Facebook probably takes the cake as the best way to make your group photos go viral (spread fast). It has tagging, sharing, commenting, the whole works. Plus Apple's new iLife 11 will download your Facebook photos straight into iPhoto and shows the pictures comments. Google Photos is another great choice for huge batch uploads. It will upload whole folders from your computer. It also offers face recognition, 20GB of storage is only $5 a year, and the cheapest of all photo storage sites. FlickR offers a great product which is showing up in more places. Your AppleTV, TiVo, Facebook, and others all play nice with FlickR. It has unlimited video and photo storage. If it only had face recognition and a lower price tag it would easily beat Google Photos! Apple's MobileMe service is another option. If you're looking to stay in the Apple eco-system and harvest all the benefits of it, it's your only choice, but it is the most expensive. It will do photos, videos, documents, anything your digital heart desires.
Last, printing photos to put in your youth room is always a great idea, but don't forget about digital picture frames. You can find them now for under $20! They also have picture frames with WiFi so you can manage your content from your computer. Imagine having a frame of just faces, a frame of events, and a frame of ads about your youth ministry that all update themselves when you add or delete photos to their folders from your PC!
Whatever choice you make about online services or digital frames, the main thing here is will your teens use it and will you or a volunteer be comfortable keeping it updated.
